Trek Fest In Riverside, IA
really a small town faire. Its kind of neat that they have the whole star trek thing label on it but really its just a small town fair with nothing much more to it. We only stayed about 1/2 an hour. I did see the future birthplace of Captain Kirk though. It's behind an alleyway. Someone had taped a picture of Uhura to the back. Funny.
Anime Expo puts you at the con with Anime Backstage!
Anime Expo has launched the site Anime Backstage to give everyone not at the con an inside look.

Anyway I'll be venturing to Trekfest one day this weekend, and Fieldcon seems like an interesting concept. Have fun and send us your reports.

Can't Stop The Serenity Year 2 raises big bucks.
Wow. only half of the theatres are reporting in and so far Serenity has already equaled its total donation from last year. I can see this becoming a mighty tradition. As long as Universal maintains enough prints and in good quality, this could very well last for many many years. Vancouver fans got a special treat as Jewel Staite (Kaylee) showed up for their screening. Their pictures can be seen here

Kansas City or Montreal for the 2009 World Con?
Two cities are going to be battling it out in Japan this year for the rights to host the 2009 Worldcon. I have to believe with Denver hosting the 2008 Convention, Montreal has a better chance of getting the bid. I've been to both cities and even though I could drive to Kansas City, the city of Montreal offers much in non con activities. Anyone want to chime in?

Want to go to BlizzCON? Hope you weren't waiting.
ICON 26 as shown on public Access.
Warning: This is not suitable for work.
This is a review of ICON 26 in Stony Brook, NY.
I can't tell if the host is a fan or just making fun. But it gives you a pretty good view of the outside of the con and it has its moments of fun. Not sure I would let I'm on Public Access into my convention.

Welcome to Con-News!
Welcome. We have been thinking about doing this for quite some time now. We hope to provide the best reports from cons across the country and give everyone a chance to enjoy their favorite things about going to a convention. Who knows maybe you will hear about a con here that you didn't even know existed.
We could use everyone's help to make this succesful though. Here's how. Send us tips. Send us reports on Cons you went to. Seen a good review. Give us the website and we will link to it. Leave comments on the Cons you plan on attending and help us make this a fun site for everyone who loves conventions.
